I'm late to this podcast, thank you for this interview with Jordan I found her explanation of her SI & Ti fascinating. I am surrounded by ISFJ's, & feel they can be the most balanced human beings. I've learned so much from observing my friends.

Been confused since I was little Currently painting my house and listening to this podcast Kinda enjoy it One of my question to myself is that A person is born or made as an infj ?

I’m a Hestia, I have been trying to understand why I feel so overpowered by the women in my life with stronger personalities. I’m one to step down & let them walk on me to keep the peace. I am learning about each archetype that I relate to to understand the light sides & shadow sides & what I can do to mature, nurture, & grow within those archetypes that I relate to. Taking note.

Thank you this was so helpful for me. I've been struggling with knowing my type for a long time despite lots of study and introspection. I used to immediately dismiss a 4 for myself bc "I'm not sad all the time." I always thought I'm a 1 2 or 3. But none of them really fit. I recently met with an enneagram teacher and she really quickly suggested 4. When I read into it I can relate so so much but I was still confused bc I'm relatively happy and not filled with melancholy. I kept going back to 2. But just do not relate to the panels and descriptions... Anyway all this to say thank you for sharing this myth!

I feel like an ixxp when i'm alone and like an exxj when interacting with people. Sometimes vice versa. It's crazy how much i can relate to both! I can't decide! Maybe i'm an observer! (Lol pun unintended :p)

I was adopted at 2. I sooo relate to the identity problem. I wasn't mirrored. I always had an issue with identity. I m an engram 4 also. INFP.

So true ! It seems to be hard to get people take us seriously, we do feel like we can move mountains if people would believe in us . Also I very much identify with not wanting to hurt peoples feelings especially in relationships

Dont push Gen X to be "mentors". You've already pushed BBoomers into it. No, they want to accomplish still many things by themselves. This is a very ideological approach: play nice, be vulnerable, be a grandparent, be mentor. NO, thanks!

No, this is not a "distrust" in the system, just observing the reality and calling a spade a spade. If people are incompetent, gen X has every right to point it out.

All of this is kind of an intuitive imagination, which goes overboard sometimes. Many theories are far fetched.

Ah, this is baby boomers' fault that Millenials disregard us? By the way, they dont "disregard" us, they are just envious, because they have not achieved much by now.

Sage role? With the millenials who dont want our wisdom?? No, not really.

Why would you SACRIFICE on the behalf of the grandchildren? Babyboomers had to FREE women from sacrifice, to FREE black people from unjustice and so on. Suddenly the X generation wants FEELINGS???

Dont illustrate "the point" by extreme examples!

CG Jung would have turned in his grave if he could. It seems that the participants of the discussion see the "shadow" in each good trait,. In this case the definition of "shadow" is not the one CG Jung had.

Consumerism? What are you talking about? Babyboomers were well educated and skilled and have achieved high positions in companies. They were independent and self-reliant. Socialism "shadow"? Of course, a certain system was in place like in every generation. A propos: self sacrificing: Not everybody is a "grand-parent type".

Babyboomers were not focused on themselves! They were focused on big ideas: Anti War movement, faminismus, Human rights, etc etc. How can you make these falsa accusations? This was also the time when Anti-authoritarianism in child raising was an issue, thus the children were not "overprotected". Some might have perceived it as being abandoned.

How can you mentor millenials if they blame us for everything? And they know everything better? Or they just dont want to work or develop any skills because they are "disappointed" and want to stay that way.

Generational concept is merely a concept, which is pretty arbitrarily set. How can we talk about a"shadow" of a collective which exists in our imagination only? If it is a model on the basis of birthdates, why is this model not just strictly mathematical?: 20 years plus another 20 years etc. etc.

Can I also be a peronality Hacker? I finished Clinical Psychology and CG Jung Institute in Switzerland. I emigrated from an Europeran Country without possibiliy of coming back. Then, you recognize immediately, that you are responsible for your life, since you are an adult.

Millenials are not autonomous and cannot think for themselves. They are not self-dependent at all.

To mentor those lazy whining guys, sorry! We cannot teach them discipline or strong will or motivation. If they want work-life balance with 90% "life", they will not achieve much. And no, millenials, you were NOT "following the orders". Just pull yourself together and suck it up, guys.

Millennials have been born to the world of abundance and obviously struggle with the idea that they have not contributed to it by now. Their resentment towards older generations is really a resentment against their own lack of skills.

Sensation without meaning sucks. The advice to just enjoy being alive, is a bad advice for an INTJ.

I hate being INFJ. I have suffered so much in my life. It was so difficult doing Friends or having a couple. I feel that nobody can understand me! Neither me!

As an Enneagram 3, I find this to be so helpful!!
